NON-EMERGENCY PHONE 817-249-1610 The Benbrook Police Department, is a progressive and community-oriented team of law enforcement professionals. We have created this web site to act as your virtual resource to our department. Our goal is to provide you with helpful, up-to-date information about the department and community. Benbrook Police Department and the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA will be giving crime and drugs a going away party October 7, 2008 from 6 - 9 PM at the 25th Annual National Night Out Against Crime and Drugs event. This is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. We cordially invite the citizens of Benbrook and surrounding areas to be a part of our NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2008.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: (1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that the neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
This year we are doing even more by starting The Way Home Program. This program is a registry for people who have Alzheimer’s, Autism, or any mental condition that makes it difficult to communicate. Family members are allowed to enter an individual’s information into a database that will assist officers when dealing with lost or confused persons. If you know a Benbrook resident who has trouble communicating and is likely to wander away from home, they could greatly benefit from this program. The kick off for The Way Home Program will be October 7, 2008 at the National Night Out event. To enroll a loved one in the program, please be prepared to provide the following information: name, address, phone number, date of birth, recent photo, description of illness and an emergency contact person. This information will be maintained in a confidential police database and used only to identify and assist lost or confused citizens.
Benbrook’s National Night Out 2008 will take place at the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA, located at 1899 Winscott, and will include food, fun, and activities. Accident Reports now available on-line.
